UAM mandatory to submit to avail various benefits of Punjab Govt as well as GoI schemes: GM DIC Ludhiana

Ludhiana, September 27, 2019: The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) had notified on 18-09-2015 the procedure and guidelines for obtaining Udyog Adhaar Memorandum (UAM) for all the existing as well as new MSMEs in the country. As per office record only 46000 (approx.) units have got UAM for their units while many more units are still remaining who have not got the UAM for their respective units. General Manager, District Industries Centre, Ludhiana Mahesh Khanna informed that UAM is mandatory to submit to avail various benefits of State Government as well as the government of India schemes. It is also mandatory while filing any tender or participating in any National or International Trade fair/Exhibition. All the banks/financial institutions demand for the UAM while financing the units. The entrepreneurs can get the benefit of delayed payment council established under MSMED Act-2006 only through UAM. Mahesh Khanna has appealed all the Industrial Associations and entrepreneurs (new as well as existing) who have not got the UAM for their units, should approach DIC office for obtaining the same. The Udyog Adhaar Memorandum can be generated by the entrepreneurs themselves online on www.udyogadhaar.gov.in. He added that we are conducting facilitation camps for three days in a week i.e. on Monday, Wednesday and Friday for generating Udyog Adhaar Memorandum in our office. So it is for the information of all the existing and new enterprises who have not generated the UAM for their respective units can get it generated from DIC office in special camps.
