District Administration Jalandhar observes World Heritage Day 

Jalandhar, April 18, 2024: District administration has observed “world heritage day 2024” as Deputy commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal previews the Pictorial work and Short Documentary Film titled “Nurmahal Sarai Jalandhar – 400 Year Old Heritage Monument” depicting the Architectural Heritage monument of Jalandhar. 

Speaking on the occasion to mark the world heritage day 2024, Deputy commissioner said that Pictorial visuals and Short Documentary titled “Nurmahal Sarai Jalandhar – 400 Year Old Heritage Monument” depicting one of the most prominent heritage monument situated in the District Jalandhar will work as a torch bearer to aware the youth about the rich  history of Punjab.

The Documentary film portrays the typical Mughal architectural style of Nurmahal Sarai, which served as a center for administrative and judicial activities during the Mughal period, featuring symmetrical layouts, intricate carvings, spacious courtyards and red brick architecture of the Monument. 

The Documentary film aims to serve as a poignant reminder regarding the significance of Punjab’s cultural and natural heritage and highlight the treasures of our past and the legacy for future generations. 

He further said that it is imperative, now more than ever, to prioritize conserve of our heritage monuments and promote awareness about their historical significance within our younger generation. 

Author & Heritage Promoter Harpreet Sandhu said that he has compiled the Pictorial Brochure and Documentary Film with aim to highlight the “Nurmahal Sarai” which stands as a testament to the architectural brilliance cultural and Historical landmark of Punjab Heritage located in District Jalandhar. 

Prominent amongst present on the occasion included ADC Jasbir Singh, PCS, SDM Dr. Jai Inder Singh, PCS and other officials of District Administration Jalandhar.
