NEWLY APPOINTED DCC PRESIDENTS TO PROMOTE GOVT SCHEMES AT GRASSROOTS LEVEL: ASHU

Ludhiana, January 23, 2019: Punjab Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu today said that the newly appointed District Congress Committee presidents and their teams should promote Punjab government schemes at grassroots level. He said this while attending the function organised by District Congress Committee (Rural) President Mr Karanjit Singh Soni Galib at Congress Bhawan, here today.
Mr Karanjit Singh Soni Galib assumed office at DCC (Rural) president today. Prominent among those present on the occasion included MLAs Mr Rakesh Pandey, Mr Surinder Dawar, Mr Kuldeep Singh Vaid and Mr Sanjay Talwar, former minister Mr Malkit Singh Dakha, Mayor Mr Balkar Singh Sandhu, former MP Mr Amrik Singh Aliwal, DCC (Urban) President Mr Ashwani Sharma, Senior Congress leaders former MLA Mr Gurdeep Singh Bhaini, Mr Gurdev Singh Lapran, Mr Jagpal Singh Khangura, Mr Raman Subramaniam, Mr Sunil Kapoor, Mr Anand Sarup Singh Mohi, Mr Ishwarjot Singh Cheema, Mr Gurpreet Singh Gogi, Mr Kulraj Singh Grewal, Sahnewal Nagar Council President Mr Sukhjeet Singh Hara, Mullanpur Nagar Council President Mr Telu Ram, Jagraon Nagar Council President Mr Amar Nath Kalyan, Mr Kamil Boparai, besides several others.
While addressing the gathering, Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that the Punjab government is committed for the welfare of all sections of the society and the Congress workers should contribute in taking the government schemes at grassroots level.
MP Ludhiana Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu urged all the Congress workers present in the function to act as eyes and ears of the Punjab government so that no person is left to avail government schemes. He said that very soon, new identity cards would be issued to all members of DCC.
Mr Karanjit Singh Soni Galib said that his family has been associated with the Congress party for decades and his father late Mr Gurcharan Singh Galib served as Member of Parliament twice from Ludhiana (from year 1992-1996 & year 1999-2004). He assured that he, along with his team, would ensure that all welfare schemes of the Punjab government are implemented at grassroots level.
