Ferozepur, July 15, 2013: The visually challenged persons, under the leadership of Rajesh Mohan, Convener, National Federation of Blind North West Committee, take out a road march from Malout to Village Badal of Chief Minister Punjab, Parkash Singh Badal, to press for the implementation of their long pending demands.

In this road march, the members of Federation from Punjab and North India participated and shouted slogans against the step-motherly treatment of Punjab Government towards the blinds community.

Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Rajesh Mohan said, the NFB is struggling for their genuine demands for the last 20 years which include implementation of 1 per cent reservation in government jobs and converting of 167 posts of ETT to Music Teachers, Tabla Master and Class IV apart from promotion to visually challenged employees at per the rules of the High Court, traveling allowance on the pattern of Centre and Haryana Government, unemployment allowance of Rs.2,000 per month and upgrading of Govt. School for Blinds at Jamalpur, near Ludhiana to Class 12.

However, with the intervention of district administration on fixing a meeting with the Chief Minister office for July 16, the road march was withdrawn when it reached village Danewala with the assurance that government is ready to have talk with them.
