8.7 LAKH MTS WHEAT ARRIVAL expected in Ferozepur District

Ferozepur, February 5, 2013: The farmers will not face any difficulty in the mandis during the current wheat procurement season in the mandis and each grain of their products would be purchased. 

These views were expressed by Manjit Singh Narang, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur while addressing the meeting various procuring agencies at District Administrative Complex.

Deputy Commissioner said, during the current year, 8.7 lakh MTs wheat arrival is expected and all necessary arrangements have been made by the government in this regard.  

He also advised the procuring agencies to arrange maximum covered storage accommodation to store the wheat so that the grains are saved from damage due to rains, besides making arrangements for gunny bales. 

He further said, during the crop season 2013-14, 128 procurement centres have been established.

Deputy Commissioner also directed the officers to make proper sitting arrangements, shadow and drinkable water, electricity arrangements and cleanliness, in the mandis. 

He also appealed to the farmers to bring the dry produce in the mandis only so that there is no problem in procuring the same by the government agencies.

In the meeting, all the officers of district administration and procuring agencies were present.
