Ludhiana News/Two would-be brides and two other females injure in acid attack in beauty saloon

Ludhiana, December 7, 2013: An unidentified youth threw acid on two would-be brides and two employees in a beauty saloon in the Sarabha Nagar locality here on Saturday morning.
The incident occurred at around 8 am. It is learnt that the main target was a would-be bride hailing from Barnala whose marriage was to be solemnised with a boy hailing from Doaraha, near here, today. She had sustained around 50 percent burn injuries. It is learnt that a man entered into the saloon on the pretext of handing over some papers and when the girl hold the papers the man threw acid on her.
In this acid attack, another would-be bribe had also sustained minor burn injuries. However, she was discharged from the hospital after providing first aid. Two female employees of the saloon were also injured in the acid attack.
The three injured were admitted into a private hospital.
The cause of the acid attack is still uncertain.
Harsh Kumar Bansal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Ludhiana, visited the spot to get first hand information.  He told the media persons that a case under Section 307 IPC (attempt to murder) had been registered in this regard at Police Station Sarabha Nagar.
