Union Government sanctions 100 bed PGI Satellite Centre for Ferozeprur

Chandigarh, November 21, 2014: Punjab BJP chief Kamal Sharma has welcomed Centre Government’s green signal to open a 100 bed PGI Satellite Centre in Ferozerpur and has thanked Union Health Minister JP Nadda to fulfill this long pending demand of the people of border areas.
According to a press release from the party headquarters here, the Punjab BJP chief met Nadda in Jammu during an election meeting of BJP and submitted a memorandum to lay the foundation stone of this hospital in Ferozepur as soon as possible.
Sharma said that having a satellite Centre of the PGI was the long pending demand of the people of border areas of Punjab and a delegation of local leaders had met previous Union Health Minister, Dr. Harshwardhan to fulfill this demand few months back. Following this delegation, the union ministry had send a delegation led by Dr J.S Thakur for the survey and that team recommended the setting up of the Centre in Ferozepur.
In his meeting with Nadda, the state BJP chief also appealed the Union Health Minister to immediately sanction funds for the start of the work. Sharma said that this centre would have all modern health facilities and it would come as a big relief for the people of Ferozepur and other border areas who till now were deprived off the best health facilities in the region.
