DMC Hospital & LOGS hold PICSEP Workshop

Ludhiana, November 1, 2014: Under the affiliation of Ludhiana Obstetrics & Gynaecological Society (LOGS) and in collaboration with FOGSI (Federation of Obstetric & Gynaecological Society of India – JOGF (Journal of  Obstetric & Gynaecological Society of India) The PICSEP (Programme for Inculcating Culture of Scientific Enquiry and Pursuit) Workshop 2014 was organized by the DMCH, Educational Unit to promote the spirit of scientific awareness & Research among the Postgraduate residents so that they are able to keep themselves abreast with the Latest in the field of Medical education & Research which is the need of the hour today.  Dr. Suvarna Khadilkar, Gynae Endocrinologist from Mumbai was the national faculty & Chief Guest for the events.  A full day Workshop was conducted under the auspices & guidance of Dr. Suman Puri, Professor, Department of Obstetric & Gynaecological, DMCH and Vice President, LOGS & Dr. Kanupriya, Assistant Professor, Department of Obst. & Gynae, DMCH.   Dr. Neelam Sodhi, President of LOGS stated that documentation of all findings is an important aspect which every doctor should follow.  This will help in research activities and treating our patients.

The aim of the workshop was to teach the resident doctors about the basics of conducting research and to inculcate an interest of doing research in future.  Various other doctors gave informative and enlightening lectures on various topics on how to prepare adissertation and how to write a paper. Doctors included Dr. Daljit Singh, Principal, DMCH who talked on Thesis format, Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Assistant Dean Academic, Dr. Gagandeep Singh , HOD Neurology, Dr. R.K. Soni, Professor of SPM, Dr. Kanchan Gupta, Asso. Professor, Pharmacology, Dr. Shalini, Prof. Pharmacology and Dr. Sandeep Puri, Vice Principal & HOD, Medicine spoke on various aspects of doing research and documents it for publication. The Chief Guest Dr. Suvarna Khadilkar talked about Misdeeds and Misconducts in Research.  The Workshop was conducted successfully and finished on a happy note.
