KVK, JALANDHAR ORGANISED 21 DAYS WINTER SCHOOL

Ludhiana, November 14, 2017: A national level ICAR sponsored winter school was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jalandhar for the first time in India wef. From 25 October to 2017 to 14 November 2017. The training programme attended by 23 participants from 12 states and laid emphasis on “Advances in food processing and nutritional linkages for entrepreneurship development”. Doubling the farmer income is a great challenges for academics, researchers, extension workers and the course appraised the participants on value addition, food safety standards processing of fruit and vegetables milk, fish, honey, and various agriculture allied enterprises for making agriculture in to industry for better returns of the farmers produce. The course comprised of lectures, demonstration, practical’s, visits, industrial tours, recreational, tours to update the knowledge, skill, attitude of the youth. The emphasis was laid on improving and motivating the entrepreneurs for micro enterprises, credit facilities, infrastructure and institutional support for exploring the opportunities for entrepreneurship development. Course Director Dr. Kanchan Sandhu and Co- Director Dr. Kuldeep Singh and Dr Pankaj Kumar conducted the course programme successfully from KVK Jalandhar. Dr. Rajbir Singh Director ICAR ATARI Zone-1 presided the valedictory function continuing of this programme to update skill and refresh the participants in advances in Agri- allied activities. Dean PGS Dr. Neelam Grewal delivered a thought provoking talk and shared the experiences of the participants who attended the winter school. The whole mark of the school being enriching variety and rural youth, woman shared be encouraged for entrepreneurship development.
