Gangsters nabbed after shootout in Ferozepur

Ferozepur, June 11, 2017: In a major breakthrough, two gangsters identified as Gurpreet Gopy and Avtar alias Pamma were nabbed by Ferozepur police while one other gangster Ashok Kumar alias Amanpreet managed to escape. As per information available, the gangsters had taken shelter in one of the houses situated at Village Kohala in Mallanwala of this district last night. The police had received tip off about these gangsters. During wee hours, the police covered the area and started firing. Few shots were fired from other side also however, the police managed to arrest three gangsters while Amanpreet managed to fled from the spot.
As per the eyewitnesses, the police had surrounded the entire area leaving no scope for the accused to flee. Gourav Garg, SSP, Ferozepur said no policeman was injured during the firing. “5-6 other persons have also been detained for investigation”, he added.

Earlier, in February 11 this year, two dreaded gangsters identified as Gahiya Khan and Bagga Khan along with their three accomplices were nabbed from Makhu block after an exchange of firing in which more than 100 rounds were fired by both sides in the shootout that took place at ward number 5 of Makhu block. In this shootout, Gahiya was hit by a bullet on his ankle.
