Jalandhar, October 24, 2016: Ivy World School planned a special event for our little Ivyians of grade 1- “The Ivyian Farm Carnival” as each one of them depicted the role of a farmer. Various stalls of fruits, vegetables, pulses and grains were set up. Children posed as buyers and sellers in the market. A complete village scene was created to give the market a real look.
Germination, another important aspect was discussed here as an important part of growing plants. A science experiment based on “Germination of seeds” was conducted where children explained several factors that influence this process such as water availability, temperature and sunlight. All these aspects were explained very well by these tiny tots. Further details of how a farmer performs and follows eight major steps from crop selection to harvesting was also explained in the “Cycle of Farming”
Another extremely important part of the activity was “Money Transactions” Here children learnt and performed the exchange of money through marketing. As we all know that in a rapidly changing world, teaching children about managing money has never been more important. Hence now our little Ivyians are well equipped to handle money the smart way!!!
The Ivyian farm carnival was visited by teachers and children of various grades and was a hit among the students as they enjoyed their day at the market! Principal Ivy World School, Mrs S. Chauhan, appreciated the efforts put in by the students and motivated them.
