HMV organised workshop on Innovate or Evaporate

Jalandhar, November 7, 2016: PG Department of Commerce and Management of Hans Raj Mahila Maha Vidyalaya organized one day workshop on Innovate or Evaporate. More than 500 students from different schools of Jalandhar and around participated in the workshop. Programme started with a formal welcome by Head of department and coordinator of workshop Dr. Kanwaldeep Kaur. Mrs. Binoo Gupta, event coordinator of the workshop conducted the stage. A number of events were organized in the first session of the workshop such as presentation on evolution of commerce by Gulfam Virdi of B.Com. Prof. III, Principles of Management by Surbhi Kohli of SSC II Commerce and practical application through role playing by staff and students. Mrs. Meenu Kundra explained the requisites of business plan. Upasana and Harman of M.Com. presented business plan. A presentation on ‘Management lessons from Chak De India’ was given by Gurneet Kaur of M.Com. and a management activity was also held based on the same. A number of competitions were also held. Team Nehru Garden and HMV won Miss Manager Contest. First prize of Ad-mad show was won by Vijaylaxmi of DAV Sr. Sec. School Batala. The second prize was won by Meenu of Arya Kanya School and third prize by Damanpreet Kaur of DSSD Girls School. Principal Dr. (Mrs.) Ajay Sareen welcomed, honoured and expressed gratitude to the Principals of different schools for allowing faculty members and students to attend the workshop. She emphasized the role of DAV College Managing Committee in raising the level of education by focusing not only on academics but providing value based education. She congratulated the students for all the enthusiasm shown in the workshop. Principal Dr. Sareen appreciated the efforts of commerce department and encouraged to organize such events in future as well. Faculty members Mrs. Meenu Kohli, Dr. Seema Khanna, Mrs. Kajal Puri, Mrs. Shikha Chhabra, Mrs. Savita Mahendru, Mrs. Yuvika, Dr. Minakshi Duggal, Mrs. Ritu Bahri, Ms. Karishma, Ms. Aashima, Ms. Rashminder, Ms. Bhawna, Ms. Maha Arora, Ms. Nishima, Ms. Sonam, Ms.Saloni, Ms. Shyna, Ms. Anjali, Ms. Sunayana and Ms. Harjot attended the workshop.
