`First step towards entrepreneurship is to analyze the situation around’

Jalandhar, July 29, 2019: Entrepreneurship Development Cell of Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar organized Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme. The Chief Resource Person of the event were Prof.J.S,Kalra, Chief Advisor of P.G. Department of Commerce and Dr.Ashish Sharma, GNDU. Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma welcomed the guests with fresh bunch of flowers and put forth that in today’s era of startups and entrepreneurship such programmes are conducted in order to direct the correct path to students and if experts from the industry will give these guidelines then it shall be like cherry on the cake. Prof. J.S.Kalra while addressing students said that the first step towards entrepreneurship is to analyze the situation around and know the demands of industry in which they want to enter and for this one needs a point of view, a sharp eye which can see this and then accordingly work for it. Today only that person can be successful whose ideas are innovative and as per the demand. Taking ahead the same concept in the context of Teacher-student relationship, Prof.Kalra added that in classroom as well one can learn the basics of entrepreneurship in the form of practical learning, conceptual foundation, industry linkage and internships as these activities induce brain storming, creativity and interactive session with people around. Taking further the same concept, Prof. Ashish Arora added that entrepreneurship is possible in classroom teaching as well. What at the most is required is just creativity, persuasion, collaboration, adaptability and time management. One successful and diverse team can come together and work for the desired goal where problem solving, team building, creative thinking and empathetic qualities are must. On the same occasion, Ruchita from Department of Multimedia enlightened the students about the online courses available on various sites where students can register themselves and enhance their skills with their regular studies. For the successful completion of EDC, Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma congratulated Dr.Jagmohan Mago and Dr.Munish Gupta for their relentless effort.
