Jalandhar, August 26, 2019: Punjab Natya Mahotsava in collaboration with North Zone Cultural Centre, Patiala (NZCC) was inaugurated at Apeejay College of Fine Arts, Jalandhar with great pomp and show.

Where on one hand the presence of Prof.Saubhagya Vardhan ,Director, NZCC under whose aegis the whole event was functioning inspired the artists and young students; on the other hand, the Chief Guest of the day Deepak Bali, General Director, Harivallabh Sangeet Sammellan and Punjab Jagriti Munch also motivated and pushed further the enthusiasm of students and artists.

Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma welcomed the guests and expressed her joy by putting forth that through the organization of Punjab Natya Mahotsav at our college, the students shall learn and get to know about the theatre artists and their role in the upliftment of the society. Not only this, but through the medium of plays which highlight the prevalent issues of the society, the audience would develop their perception and polish their critical and creative skills.

On the first day of Punjab Natya Mahotsava, the artists of Alfaz Theatre Organization, Amritsar enacted the play “Teesri Jung” which was written and directed by Balwant Moga and Mandeep Ghai respectively.

The play was inspired from “Mitti Sadan Kare”. Mandep Ghai and Mittu decorated and moulded the play as per their own creativity and imagination.

The play “Teesri Jung” talked about how the lives of children are affected when the own relatives want to set back their future and thus in order to fulfill their motives pave them on the path of drugs. The play also talked of role of women and the importance of education in the society.

The music of the play was composed by Gagan Vadali and the lyrics were written by Mandeep Ghai.

The play on one hand entertained the audience and on the other hand raised a serious question in the society amongst the audience.
Principal Dr.Sucharita Sharma congratulated Dr.Amita Mishra and Dr.Manisha Sharma for putting up the meticulous efforts to make the event successful.
