Chandigarh, March 24, 2015: On the last day of nominations for Dhuri Bypoll, as many as 7 candidates today filed their nominations.
According to an official spokesperson of the office of the Chief Electoral Officer total 14 nominations have been submitted by candidates representing various political outfits. He said on the last day the candidates who filed their nominations are Gaganjit Singh of Indian National Congress as covering candidate of Simar Pratap Singh, Zora Singh (Independent), Gobind Singh (Shiromani Akali Dal) along with his covering candidate Navinderpreet Singh, Sukhdev Ram Sharma of CPI, Gurmeet Singh (Independent) and Sarabjit Singh of Bahujan Mukti Party.
The spokesperson said that the nominations would be examined on March 25 while the candidates can withdraw their candidature by filling up prescribed form by 3 pm till March 27. He said the voting would start at 8 am and culminate at 5pm on April 11 and the counting will take place on April 15.
