Ferozepur, April 27, 2015: Er.DPS Kharbanda, Deputy Commissioner, Ferozepur paid visit to various grain markets including Ferozepur Cantt, Ferozepur City, Sande Hasham, Kulgarhi, Khosa Dal Singh, Talwandi Bhai, Zira, Makhu besides several other grain markets of Ferozepur and took stock of the situation.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner also held meetings with farmers, officials from procurement agencies, labour and transporters and gave stern instructions to the officials that lifting of wheat should not be halted at any cost. He also assured the farmers and contractors that lifting process shall be initiated by today evening and with two-three days most of the wheat shall be procured.
The Deputy Commissioner informed that 4,53,211 MT wheat have been purchased till last evening. He also gave instructions to the officers to link the swipe cards of contractors with the bank so that the payments could be made easily.
On this occasion Sandip Singh Garha, SDM, Ferozepur, Jaspal Singh, SDM, Zira, Manjit Singh, District Market Officer, Sikander Heer, DFSC, Ferozepur besides officials from procurement agencies were present.
