A massive demonstration in front of State Bank of Patiala, Zonal office, Ludhiana being held on Friday.

Ludhiana, October 30, 2015: All India Bank Employees Association and State Sector Bank Employees Association (SSBEA) has given a call  for agitational programmes and 2 days strike in Associate Banks on 1st & 2nd December 2015, Strike by AIBEA on 2nd Dec. 2015 followed by Indefinite strike in Associate Banks by end of Dec. 2015 followed by indefinite strike in all Banks.
Today, a massive demonstration was held in front of State Bank of Patiala, Zonal office, Miller Ganj, Ludhiana. Com. Ashok Malhan, Vice President, All India State Bank of Patiala Employees' Federation,  Com. Pawan Thakur, President, Com. Harvinder Singh, Senior Vice President Com. Rajesh Verma,  Vice President and Com. Ashwani Singla, Organizing Secretary, Punjab Bank Employees Federation (Ludhiana) addresssed the bank employees.
Addressing the rally, leaders of the Federation said that the agitation has been forced on us due to the continued unfair labour practices of the State Bank of India management who are trying to force SBI service conditions in Associate Banks and are trying to bypass our trade unions in the Associate Banks. Even the Government guidelines on compassionate ground apointment in the Banks has been violated and unilateral scheme has been introduced to prevent compassionate apointments in the Associate Banks. So, State Sector Bank Employees Association has chalked out agitational programme against the discriminatory and vindictive attitude of the SBI Management. In the past, State Bank tried to implement the career progression, as available in SBI. The SSBEA refused this offer for the reason that it involved mobility of employees at the discretion of the management at regular intervals, outsourcing of certain jobs as done in SBI. State Bank Management fixed meeting to discuss Implementation of career path agreement, staff productivity and transfer policy for award staff. We also submitted fresh demands to SBI and requested them to convene a Bipartite Meeting. Besides other issues, the issues like increase in quantum of Housing Loan, Car Loans, Revision of Annual Health-checkup. Recruitment of Award Staff were also to be discussed in the meeting. State Bank Management after giving the date for the Bipartite Meeting, unilaterally cancelled the meeting for reasons best known to them. We cannot keep quiet without pursuing our demands. The way in which the meeting was unilaterally cancelled will definitely strain industrial relations in Associate Banks.
Leaders of the Federation further said that high-handed approach of SBI management cannot be countenanced and stomached by any trade union. They totally undermine the trade union right of collective bargaining. They want to dictate and unilaterally decide our service conditions. On the other hand, the Associate Banks' business performance is being strangulated and dwarfed because of the over-bossism and over-lordism of SBI. The Associate Banks are being treated like step-children and are being subordinated to the interests of SBI. Many Banks which were far small than these Banks two decades ago have overtaken the Associate Banks in business parameters. That is why we demand de-linking Associate Banks from the clutches of  SBI.  In case the demands are not met all workmen on 02nd December, 2015 AIBEA will hold full day Strike through out the country.
Leaders called up on the members to be ready to fight out the discriminatory adamant attitude of SBI Management with the employees' of Associate Banks. Employees are demanding to settle the pending issues including mutually agreed Sub Committee Report on empowerment of workmen Staff but SBI Management is forcing to implement SBI Carrier Progression Scheme and forcing Associate Banks' Management's not to exceed any demands having financial implications which is not at all acceptable to the Unions. Agitation will be further intensified.
Com. A.K.Chhibber, Vice President, Com. Jagan Nath Makhija, Organising Secretary,   Com. Narkesar Rai, Regional Secretary, State Bank of Patiala Employees Union were also present in the demonstration.
