Ludhiana, April 2, 2019: Continuing with the 125 years celebrations Christian Medical College, in collaboration with Asian Medical Students Association, India is organising an international conference - the Junior World Congress(JWC) 2019 from 4th to 8th April, 2019. The theme of the Congress is Non-Communicable diseases.

Dr Jeyaraj D Pandian, Principal, CMC said that the congress aims at bringing together over 300 undergraduate (MBBS) delegates, both national and international under one roof in an attempt to equip them with the right set of knowledge and skills needed to combat the rising burden of Non-Communicable Diseases. Dr William Bhatti, Director, CMC lauded the efforts of medical students in organising this international conference.

The five- day conference begins with a spectacular Inauguration and welcoming dinner with Dr. Prashant Mathur, Director of the National Centre for Disease Informatics and Research, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) as the chief guest. The conference offers delegates a wide range of events and a global platform to showcase their research and participate in events against international delegates to win exciting prizes!

JWC has been endorsed by renowned international and national medical organisations like Cleveland Clinic, Indian Stroke Organisation, World Stroke Organisation, World NCD Federation, South Asian Federation of Endocrine Societies, Association of Physicians India and Indian Council of Medical Research. Trident group is the title sponsor for the program.

JWC will offer workshops on Stroke, Diabetes, Heart disease, Cancer, chronic kidney disease and mental health for the medical students. Key note lectures will be delivered by Prof Prashant Mathur (ICMR), Prof. Peter Sandercock (Edinburgh, UK), Dr. Atul Mehta (Cleveland Clinic, USA), Dr.Sangeeta Mahajan (UK), Dr.MammenChandy, Dr.Nihal Thomas, Dr.Sajeev Cherian (Australia), Dr. JS Thakur, Dr.TarlokPurewal (USA),
Dr Prabhakaran, and Dr. Derek de Sa (Canada).
