Educational Trip to Jahangir Sarai

Jalandhar, May 26, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- the Heritage & Autonomous institution, Jalandhar's department of History organized an educational trip to Jahangir Sarai at Nakodar for the students. During the visit, the students were shown the fort, tombs and sarais situated within the four walls of Jahangir Sarai.
The main purpose of this trip was to make the students understand construction techniques and varying styles of architecture.
Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that such educational trips enrich students with the rich cultural heritage of the past and helps them to understand the various styles of architecture of Mughal period. She further maintained that visits to the historic forts and monuments and other places can help the students of Social Sciences understand the history of past in a better way. She also lauded the efforts of Dr Gurjot, Head, Department of History and other faculty members for organizing such type of activities.
