Jalandhar, October 15, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar inaugurated Exotica-19- a Two - Day Exhibition-cum-Sale at Virsa Vihar, Jalandhar. It is an annual feature of Fashion Designing Department for 10 years in a row.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Mr Varinder K Sharma, Deputy Commissioner, Jalandhar & Mrs Neerja Chander Mohan, Member, KMV Managing Committee was the Guest of Honour. Mrs Anuradha Sondhi, Member, KMV Managing Committee, Dr Sushma Chopra, Secretary, KMV Managing Committee & Dr Satpal Gupta were also present on the occasion. Principal Prof. (Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred that the creative endeavors of the young and budding designers and entrepreneurs have come to the fore during the exhibition-cum-sale. She further maintained that the presence of eminent citizens of the city played a pivotal role in motivating the students and the faculty. She stated that the all the profit earned from this exhibition will go to the scholarship fund for the deserving students. Mr Varinder K Sharma speaking on the occasion appreciated the efforts of the students and averred that these type of exhibitions provide a great platform to all the upcoming entrepreneurs of KMV to showcase their talent. The exhibition featured festive products like fancy diyas, gift packing, jewellery, hand painted suits, sarees, Kurtis, torans, bed sheets, cushion covers, t-shirts, towel, sets, masks, file folders, roti wraps, table mats, wall hangings, bags, wax and gel candles and decorative items etc. Department of Home Science also prepared various craft items for diwali decoration and various eatable items like coconut laddu, dates burfi and bakery products. PG Department of Fine Arts also showcased their creative products like paintings, wall hangings, mix media, painted stones, sculptures and various other beautiful items. PG Department of Cosmetology also prepared homemade soaps, nail art and mehandi services. Department of Food Science also contributed to add more variety to products with chocolates with oats, corn flakes, wheat grass, moringa etc. It is important to mention that the exhibition will continue for 2 days.
Principal Prof. ( Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi invited all the residents of Jalandhar to visit this exhibition-cum-sale as along with purchasing exceptional items they will also inspire the budding designers, creators and entrepreneurs of KMV. She also lauded the efforts of PG Department of Fashion Designing, PG Department of Fine Arts, Department of Home Science, Department of Food Science for organising this successful exhibition.
