“World Arthritis Day” observed by College of Nursing, CMC& Hospital at Jamalpur Awana
Ludhiana, October 13, 2019: “World Arthritis Day” was observed by College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana at Jamalpur Awana, Ludhiana on Saturday on the theme “Do Not Delay, Connect Today”. Mr.Sanjeet Johnson-Associate Professor, Ms.Nisha Singh - Clinical Instructor & Ms.Bhawna-Demonstrator conducted the Programme under the guidance of Dr.Reena Jairus-Professor & Principal and Prof.(Mrs.) Glory Samuel – Vice-Principal/ H.O.D of Community Health Nursing Department College of Nursing, Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana. The audience for the event was General Public. Ms.Nisha Singh unfolded the theme and shared her views regarding Arthritis, its Sign and symptoms and prevention. She also emphasized on the importance of early detection and treatment to prevent lasting damage due to arthritis. World health organization data shows 0.3-1% of the world’s population has rheumatoid arthritis and 9.6% men and 18% women above 60 years have osteoarthritis. Dietary changes, physical fitness, exercise, weight control and stress free living are helpful in dealing with arthritis. B.Sc(N) 4th year (2016 Batch) performed the Nukkad Natak and displayed posters regarding arthritis and its prevention which were well appreciated by the audience.
