Jalandhar, December 3, 2015: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s INSPIRE Camp entered its third day with a very informative discourse by Mrs.Parminder Kaur (Head Department of Physics, KMV) on “Wonders of Universe- Birth to Death of Stars.” She explained in detail the types of galaxies and the wonders of solar system, solar flares and she also showed a very interesting video related to the topic. Dr. Atul Khanna (Dept. of Physics, GNDU, Amritsar) in his presentation on “Achievement of Indian Scientists in Nuclear Space and Defence” threw light on the achievement of Indian Scientists in the field of space, nuclear and defence. The erudite scholar spoke at length on Indian Space Programme, Chandrayan Mission, MOM mission and Rohini Rocket.
The next presentation was by Mrs. Sadhna Tandon (Head Dept. of Zoology) where she demonstrated through her experiments the concepts of blood group, blood pressure, BMI and BMR. The day concluded with a quiz competition conducted by Dr. Sonik Bhatia (Dept. of Physics). The students interacted with the resource person and found the discourses and presentation very beneficial.
