Ludhiana, April 15, 2015: Hip Replacement has given a new lease of life to freedom fighter-Narinder Singh. He was operated for hip replacement on 23rd March, 2015 as he had fractured his hip joint. Because of his age of 108 years, there was a high risk of complication but hip replacement was successfully carried out by a team a joint replacement surgeons Dr Mohd.Yamin and Dr Pankaj Mohindra.
Prem Kumar Gupta, Secretary, DMCH Managing Society that such high risk patients get best care in the hospital as al faculties are available under one roof.
Dr Mohd Yamin said that in elderly patients, hip replacement is a very good option if they fracture their hip joint as the patient can be mobilized at the earliest.
Dr Pankaj Mohindra said that because of latest implants and better surgical techniques, the outcome of hip and knee replacement have become even better. Patient Narinder Singh is currently working comfortably and will be discharged shortly, informed Dr Pankaj Mahndra.
