Chandigarh, March 3, 2015: Punjab Right to Service Commission has been castigated 40 officers/officials who have fall short to deliver the notified services without sufficient cause. Two applicants have also been compensated out of this penalty amount.

Disclosing this here today by an official spokesperson of Punjab Government said that MIS reports received from various districts; the Commission took suo-moto notice in groups of cases where service was delayed beyond time lines without sufficient cause. With the intervention of the Commission, 9500 such cases have been disposed of up to January, 2015. Apart from this, suo-moto action was initiated in 184 individual cases up to January, 2015.

He also said that applicant can acquire the status or queries he considered to the commission. He further added, Commission had disposed of 687 cases pertaining to “Attestation of Uncontested Mutation” during the Lok Adalat held at Ludhiana. More Lok Adalats would also be held at Bhatinda, Ludhiana and Jalandhar. While he added that as many as 1, 77, 66,096 applicants have availed the notified services during the period April to January, 2015 which includes 18, 16,650 applicants during the Month of January, 2015 only under Punjab Right to Service Commission. He added that set up the Aid Portal with the telephone no. 0172-2792181 for providing information and considering the services to General Public.
