Some People With Vested Interests Trying To Destabilise Peace & Communal Harmony Of State - Dhillon

Ludhiana, November 17, 2015: Punjab Irrigation Minister Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon today said that some people with their own vested interests are trying to destabilise peace and communal harmony of the state. He warned the people to remain vigilant from such divisive forces, many of which are settled abroad. "Main aim of such people is just to destabilise the Parkash Singh Badal led Punjab government," Mr Dhillon said while speaking to media persons, here today.
      Mr Dhillon was presiding over a function organised by Water Supply and Sanitation Department Punjab for educating the representatives of 160-odd villages of Sahnewal constituency regarding Swachh Bharat Mission and water supply schemes at Guru Nanak Bhawan, here today.
      While speaking to media persons, Mr Dhillon said that people are being misled by such divisive forces, whose sole aim is destabilising the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government. He warned the residents to remain vigilant from such people and make sure peace and communal harmony of our state remains intact. He said that its sad that people who were behind the Operation Blue Star are being greeted with open arms by the same divisive forces living abroad.
     Addressing the gathering comprising Sarpanch';s, Panch';s and representatives of 160-odd villages of Sahnewal constituency, Mr Sharanjit Singh Dhillon said that main agenda of Punjab government is development. He said that within next one year, all households of Punjab would have a water supply connection as well as a toilet. He said that a grant of Rs 15,000 is being given to the beneficiaries for the construction of toilets while Rs 1,300 for a water supply connection. He said that once the grant is provided, monitoring committees from the same village would keep check to make sure the grant is spent for the purpose it was meant.
      He urged the participants to provide him with names of all beneficiaries who can get this grant so that the target of 100 percent water supply and toilets is achieved. He informed that in next few days, he would be holding Sangat Darshan programmes in all villages of his constituency and funds would be provided for carrying out development works.
      Prominent among those present on the occasion included Mr Simranjit Singh Dhillon, Mr R K Bhandari, Superintending Engineer, WSSD, XEN';s Mr Jaswinder Singh Chahal and Mr Amritpal Singh Gill, Mr Maninder Singh Natt, Sarpanch Kakowal, besides Sarpanch';s, Panch';s and representatives of several other villages of Sahnewal constituency.
