Khanna, October 1, 2015: Anti-encroachment drive initiated by MC authorities is proving ineffective to remove illegal encroachments done by number of shopkeepers on both sides of National High way, Guru Amar Das Market and G.T.B.Market. This was alleged by PD Bansal while talking to media persons at Khanna. He said that even 2nd Khanna visit of Smt.Babeeta Kaler, Deputy Director (Urban) Local Bodies Ludhiana some days ago also failed in removing illegal encroachments as the encroachments in said markets and on public paths are existing as such even after one week of the visit.
PD Bansal president Lok Sewa Club said in his press statement that some new shopkeepers have also encroached the public corridors in these markets after seeing that no strict action is being taken by the administration and there is nobody to stop them from these illegal acts.
When EO Khanna Charanjit Singh was contacted in this regard he said that they are on spree to remove illegal encroachments and today they had removed some illegal encroachments from Military ground, He said that they will continue their drive and refuted any remedy towards illegal encroachers.
