Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the government said that the other members of the Governance Reforms Monitoring Unit would be one Research Assistant, district technical coordinator, to be nominated by the director Governance Reforms, Jatin Gupta, consultant, Vivek Kohli, RTI Cell and one IT Assistant.

Chandigarh October 9, 2014: Punjab Government has constituted a six-member Governance Reforms Monitoring Unit (GRMU) headed by Parveen Garg Senior Systems Manager in the directorate of Governance Reforms for assisting it in monitoring the matters relating to Governance Reforms initiatives and services notified under Right to Service Act, 2011.
Disclosing this here today a spokesman of the government said that the other members of the Governance Reforms Monitoring Unit would be one Research Assistant, district technical coordinator, to be nominated by the director Governance Reforms, Jatin Gupta, consultant, Vivek Kohli, RTI Cell and one IT Assistant.
The main functions of the newly constituted unit would be to ensure day to day monitoring the disposal of applications received in respect of the services notified under RTS Act, 2011 as well as the applications received under Web Suwidha. The unit would also coordinate with all the districts and offices other than districts for collecting information pertaining to service requests and pendency under RTS/ Web Suwidha. This unit would present the analytic reports to the State Government for the purpose of decision making and corrective measures with an aim to improve the service delivery to citizens.
The spokesman also said that Governance Reforms Monitoring Unit would also coordinate with the concerned departments for implementing the recommendations made by Punjab Governance Reforms Commission and high powered committee on governance reforms headed by the Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal.
