SCHOOLS/COLLEGES/EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS TO GET RS 1 LAKH GRANT IF THEIR STUDENTS JOIN NDA/IMA/OTA: DC Ludhiana

PUNJAB GOVT ISSUES NOTIFICATION IN THIS REGARD

Ludhiana, December 11, 2018: Deputy Commissioner Mr Pardeep Kumar Agrawal informed that a grant of Rs 1 lakh as an incentive would be given to every school/college and educational institutions of Punjab, who are affiliated to CBSE/PSEB/ICSE whose student/students join the National Defence Academy or Indian Military Academy or the Officer Training Academy etc.

He informed that a notification regarding the same has already been issued by the Punjab government and this grant of Rs 1 lakh is only for a single academic year. He said that for example if one or more candidate of any school/college and educational institute of Punjab state join the above mentioned academies, they would get Rs 1 lakh only. He clarified that they would not be entitled for this grant according to the number of students.

The conditions for this grant are, in case of NDA/Naval Academy and Technical Entry Scheme (10+2 Tech entry) of Army where 10+2 is the qualification, the grant shall be given to the school. Similarly, for entries where graduation is the eligibility such as CDS (IMA & OTA), Air Force and Naval Academy, Tech Graduate course, it shall be given to the college. It will be applicable for Technical Entry Scheme (10+2 Tech Entry) of Army where 10+2 is the qualification. He further said that a grant of Rs 1 lakh shall not be given to the school in cases where graduation is the eligibility.
