Jalandhar, October 13, 2015: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya- The Heritage Institution, Jalandhar’s College Library Display was unveiled recently with a aphoristic theme of “Ruling the Roost: I.T.World”. This theme was put up by the P.G. Dept. of Computer Science & Applications. It is a regular feature in KMV to have a library display of a subject or faculty with books and related things to increase the curiosity of students in the discussions. This month’s display clearly highlights the impact of I.T. in every aspect of life and displayed varied dimensions of computers. Various display models, books, new inventions, Android, leading women of the I.T. world, hardware components were a few highlights of this set up. The display models explained various concepts related to computers. These included models pertaining to WWW(world wide web), SDLC(Software Development Life Cycle), Online shopping, Honeypot Security, Generations of Mobile Communications, GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications), Cloud computing, Google Driveless Car and many more. A beautiful model of Android was put up, explaining it as an operating system, which is the backbone component in the working of various smart phones. Various versions of the Android were also put up along with its display model. Another focus of this theme relates to the innovations of the I.T. world including smart ring, screenless displays, play stations, brain computer interface and many more. The theme also displayed various hardware components, their meaning, purpose and use in daily working of the computer system. There are various KMVites who have achieved respectable positions in the I.T. world, so an effort was made to inspire the students by displaying the photographs and profiles available in I.T. industry. Adding to the vast I.T. domain, another informative detail was about the popular Search Engines, also showing the number of monthly visitors. Further to make the students aware about the Placement opportunities, leading I.T. & I.T.E.S giants, the pictured of the corporate offices, number of employees and their turnover figures were also shown in this theme.
Principal Prof. Atima Sharma Dwivedi ebulliently witnessed such a wonderful display. She congratulated and applauded the efforts of Ms. Suman Khurana under whose supervision and guidance, such an informative display was put up. She also stressed that displaying such themes is a pragmatic effort to make everyone aware of various aspects of the subject and will help the students to get motivated to opt for such fields. Ms. Suman Khurana, Ms. Hardeep Kaur, Dr. Anshu Oberoi, Mr. Ravi, Ms. Vanadana, Ms. Shiwani and Ms. Gurline Kaur were present on the occasion.
