Reverse countdown of Congress has begun: Sukhbir Singh Badal
Chapaar (Ludhiana) September 13, 2019: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today the reverse countdown of the Congress government had begun with Punjabis determined to teach them a lesson in the forthcoming by elections and that this would be a step towards eradicating the Congress flag from Punjab in the 2022 assembly elections. Addressing a mammoth gathering at the Mela held here annually, the SAD president said governance and development had become paralyzed in Punjab with chief minister Capt Amarinder Singh and the Congress party reneging on all the promises made to the people. “The four by-elections being held in Punjab are a good opportunity to punish the government for its indifference to the people and force it out of its slumber and make it fulfill its promises”. Commenting on the huge gathering and enthusiasm of the Akali rank and file, Badal congratulated former Dalkha legislator Manpreet Singh Ayali and said it was a reflection on his pro-people development works be it cleaning village ponds, building parks and stadiums. “The toofan starting from Dakha will eventually fell the Congress party in all 117 seats in the next assembly elections”, he added. The SAD President said the erstwhile SAD-BJP governments were known for the pro-poor social welfare schemes introduced by them as well as development. He said in direct contrast the last government of Capt Amarinder Singh in 2002-07 was known for stopping all welfare schemes and subsides and even now the Congress government had stopped all welfare schemes. He urged the people to evaluate the performance of SAD-BJP governments with those of the Congress. Do you remember even one work done by Capt Amarinder? He said in direct contrast S Parkash Singh Badal was remembered for extending free power facility to farmers, introducing old age pension and Shagun schemes besides a host of other welfare schemes including the aata –daal scheme. Launching a frontal attack on the chief minister, Badal said nothing could be expected from Capt Amarinder. “A person who can swear a false oath in the name of Guru Gobind Singh ji can do anything to achieve his political goals”. He said this could be also seen by the manner in which the Congress had tried to defame the SAD vis a vis drug and sacrilege allegations. “Has even one Akali leader been arrested in a drugs case in the last two and a half years? He said similarly the Congress was least qualified to even talk about sacrilege after having committed the biggest sacrilege by rolling tanks into Sri Darbar Sahib in 1984. While referring to a statement by the chief minister that a decision was being taken on the Sutlej Yamuna Link (SYL) canal, Badal forewarned the CM that he did not have any right to give even more drop of water to Haryana. He said the SAD would not let any water go to Haryana at any cost while reminding the CM that he had become part of the conspiracy to give Punjab waters to Haryana by welcoming then PM Indira Gandhi with ‘chandi da thaal’ and ‘kassi’ when she came to launch the SYL canal project in Punjab. Former minister Bikram Singh Majithia while speaking on the occasion said it was most unfortunate that no Cabinet minister save Mr Shyam Sunder Arora had thought it fit to prostrate themselves to take the blessings of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj at Gurdwara Ber Sahib in Sultanpur Lodhi when they visited the town to hold a cabinet meeting. He said it was unfortunate that the Congress government had refused to nominate its members to the coordination committee suggested by the Sri Akal Takth Sahib Jathedar to enable joint celebrations to mark the 550th Parkash Purb of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. Majithia assured the people that the 550th Parkash Purb of Guru Sahab would be celebrated befittingly by Guru Nanak Naam Leva Sangat whether the Congress government contributed to this effort or not. “We will not let anything to come in the way of commemorating the occasion in a most appropriate manner”, he added. Former minister and senior BJP leader Tikshan Sud also spoke on the occasion. Others who attended the function included Charanjit Singh Atwal,Tikshan Sood,Maheshinder Singh Grewal,Sharanjit Singh Dhillon,Ranjit Singh Talwandi,Darshan Singh Shivalik,Santa Singh Umedpuri, . PUNJAB GOVERNMENT IN ICU, FREQUENTLY REQUIRE VENTILATOR: MAJITHIA Chhapar, September 13, 2019: The countdown of Punjab government has begun though half of its term is completed and the government is in the ICU requiring aid of ventilators to survive. Making this observation while addressing a mammoth rally here today, former Punjab minister and senior Akali leader Bikram Singh Majithia said this would be amply demonstrated in the ensuing four by elections of Jalalabad, Dakha, Mukerian and Phagwara where the ruling Congress would be completely routed. “its a clarion call that the voters of these four assemblies will be the warriors to demolish the congress party which cheated the people of Punjab to come to power.” The punjabis will never forgive Amarinder Singh for lying and ruining their lives. Majithia said the government is non-existent and divorced from our culture and ethos too. Referring to Cabinet meeting held at historic Sultanpur Lodhi gurdwara, Majtihai pointed out that none of the ministers except one Shyam Sunder Arora, bowed before the Guru Granth Sahib which reflects on the arrogance of the party that is yet to come out of shadow of Indira Gandhi’s Congress that ordered attack on Harmandir Sahib and resorted to genocide of Sikhs in Delhi. Majithia welcomed the reopening of the cases of Madhy Pradesh chief minister Kamla Nath and others and now it is the turn of Sonia Gandhi to immediately sack him to demonstrate her repentance for the sins of the Congress otherwise it would be clear to all especially Sikhs that the party is still rooted in its anti-Sikh mentality and unlikely to change. The Akali leader hailed the decision of the Union government to wipe out the black list and permitting all the 312 persons to get the visa to visit Punjab. Meanwhile, Majithia urged the Union government to persuade the Pakisanti government to waive that proposed service tax of Rs.1400 on each pilgrim visiting Nankana Sahib on eve of 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. However, if Pakistan refuses to retract and insist on tax, Punjab government should pay the tax from its own exchequer as the poor devotees can’t afford it. Since the government is spending lavishly on itself, it can easily make this small contribution to this noble cause. Dismissive of the performance of the Punjab government, Majithia said it had failed to honour even a single promise which it had made in its poll manifesto. One job for every family, smart phone to youth, unemployment allowance all are distant dreams now and unlikely to be fulfilled. Continued suicide by farmers only prove that farmers loans have not been waived, he said adding that so far not a single penny has been paid to the effected farmers in the state as the state has no money. However, Majithia pointed that state has enough funds to burden it with an army of advisers. He said what sort of political advice these novice can offer to veteran Amarinder Singh who has been twice chief minister and repeatedly elected to the state assembly and parliament.
