Researcher from UIPS, PU bags Edward Keenedy Memorial Award
Chandigarh, November 28, 2019: Mr.Joga Singh, pursuing Ph.D under supervision of Professor Indu Pal Kaur delivered an oral presentation on his ongoing research for development of theranostic tool for targeted breast cancer therapy at 3rd World Cancer Congress-2019 and 3rd World Congress on Drug Discovery and Development. The congress was organised by Mumbai Healthcare Summit at Royal Orchid Central Grazia, Mumbai, Maharashtra from 20-21st November 2019. Dr.Gurpal Singh (UGC-Assistant Professor at UIPS), a Co-Investigator on this project also accompanied Mr. Joga Singh. The award consisted of a coveted trophy, congressional medal and a certificate. Joga Singh highlighted a platform technology being developed in the Kaur’s lab where an anti-cancer drug and fluorescent quantum dots can be loaded in a nanolipo matrix that can be used for simultaneous treatment and real time monitoring of tumour regression in breast cancer. It will take another year or so before the final product is ready for licensing.
