Ludhiana, April 29, 2024: With the district administration leaving no stone unturned to ensure maximum participation of voters during the Lok sabha-2024 elections, voter awareness drives were organised in various banks situated in different parts of the district on Monday.

The Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) teams approached the bank staff with an appeal to exercise their right to vote for strengthening the democracy and for the better future of coming generations.
Different awareness activities were held and selfie points were established too to encourage the voters.

Teams visited HDFC bank, ICICI bank etc during the awareness drives and voter registration camps were also organised to enrol first time voters. The eligible first time voters can use 'Voter Helpline' mobile application and National Voter Services Portal (NVSP) for enrolling themselves as voters. The residents can also visit www.nvsp.in to register themselves as voters. Voter registration for Lok Sabha-2024 elections can be done till May 4, 2024.

The bank staffers were also urged to spread awareness among their customers, so that the target of maximum participation can be achieved during the general elections.

District Election Officer (DEO)-cum-Deputy Commissioner (DC) Sakshi Sawhney said that the administration has been making all efforts to achieve the target of more than 70 per cent voter turnout during the Lok Sabha elections (Iss Baar, 70 Paar).
