Anti-ragging awareness lecture being held at DMCH, Ludhiana.

Ludhiana, September 26, 2015: An anti-ragging awareness lecture was delivered today by Principal Dr Sandeep Puri to the students of senior MBBS batches.
In his lecture, Dr Puri explained that the institution has a zero tolerance policy towards Ragging on and off campus. He emphasized that DMCH is committed to uphold the directions of the Honourable Supreme Court and in consideration of the determination of the Central Government and the University Grants Commission's guidelines on Ragging.
As per orders of the Honorable Supreme Court and UGC Regulations, 2009, Ragging in all its form is totally banned in all the educational institutes. Anyone found guilty of ragging and/or abetting ragging, actively or passively or being part of a conspiracy to promote ragging, will have to face any serious consequences including expulsion from the institute.
Anti-Ragging Display Boards have also been put on display in hostels and college premises. Besides UGC Anti-Ragging Helpline, the institute has also announced its own helpline number 1800-1800-051.
The institution has also taken a written undertaking form all the students that they will not indulge in any sort of ragging.
Further elaborating, Dr Puri said that the senior students should strictly defy the age old myth that ragging is a source of getting interacted with their juniors. It is a menace which has very drastic effects and there are any other positive ways with which seniors and juniors can have positive interaction with each other.
