BKU(Lakhowal) men block traffic on Ludhiana-Ambala road

The workers of BKU(Lakhowal) block traffic on Ludhiana-Ambala road on Wednesday.

Khanna, September 30, 2015: A number of workers of Bharti Kisan Union(Lakhowal) from five Districts led by State General Secretary Harinder Singh Lakhowal today blocked traffic on Ludhiana-Ambala road for about 2.30 hours in support of their demands. Due to traffic blockade the commuters had to face great difficulty to reach their destinations. The traffic blockade started at about 12.30 and ended up at 3 pm. 
Long queues of vehicles were witnessed on both sides due to traffic blockade and peoples remain stranded in buses and trucks and even in school buses. The farmers were sitting on both sides of roads and langer was also serving for the protesters by BKU workers. In his address Harinder Singh Lakhowal along with other speakers flayed Prime Minister Narinder Modi for not conceding farmer’s demands and alleged to going of same way that of Congress. The speakers demanded  to implement Swaminathan report at the earliest along with other demands.
Lakhowal appealed to the farmers not to repay any loan and not to commit suicides. He declared that BKU will not allow to acquire any land of farmers due to loan and BKU will stand with such farmers.
He also reacted sharply about the compensation declared by state Govt. of 8000 per acre to cotton grower famers and demanded 40000 per acre compensation.
He also stated that BKU will constitute village level booth committees to strengthen Kisan Union and to start struggle against Central Govt. for farmers demands. Gurmeet Singh Golewal, Avtar Singh Mehlo and other leaders also addressed the protesters.
