This group is planting tree saplings in different parts of the district. Now, this group has installed awareness boards in their offices on large scale.

President of the organisation Mr Rakesh Garg informed that they have started the installation of these boards from their office on Rani Jhansi Road, Civil Lines, here. He said that these boards have been installed in the office as well as other nearby places and these boards have been sponsored by a private bank. He said that they are also in the process of installing these boards in other offices of their department as well. He informed that these boards have been installed in Punjabi, English and Hindi so that all people can understand them.

This group is organising tree plantation drives in several areas and under one such drive, more than 3000 tree saplings were distributed free of cost to the city residents, who were also educated about the importance of trees in our lives. Besides this, a nursery at Barewal on Ferozepur Road, here, has also been prepared by the department where the tree saplings would be prepared by the staff themselves and would then be distributed free to the city residents. Majority of the tree saplings have been planted with the help of school students.

Mr Garg informed that the group was started with a mission to plant a tree a day, but with the help of other members, the number of tree saplings planted is increasing with each passing day. The Tree lovers group has already planted more than 100 tree saplings of mango near Ladhowal and 250 others in different areas. The main aim of this organisation is to plant trees as per the season throughout the year.
