Reconstitution of New Executive Council of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association

Ludhiana, May 10, 2018: The monthly General Body Meeting of PAU Retirees' Welfare Association (Regd.) was held on 09.05.2018 under Presidentship of Jila Ram Bansal. Using constitutional powers given by the general body, the President dissolved the Executive Council because some of its members were working against the interests and aims of the Association. They were indulged in unconstitutional and undemocratic activities against the Association. The President exercising the powers given by the General Body and the constitution of the Association, reconstituted the new Executive Council as follow: Jila Ram Bansal (President), SatishSood (General Secretary), SS Sharma (Chief Advisor),SK Goswami (Chief Patron), HBS Bhatia (Chief Advisor), Ajit Singh Cheema (Sr. Vice President), CS Grewal (Sr. Vice President), Gurmukh Singh (Sr. Vice President), Labh Singh Chahal (Vice President), Narinderpal Singh (Vice President), Amarjit Singh (Vice President), Jaswant Singh Jassi, MR Passi, Ashok Mahindru, ML Sood, HS Arora, Sukhjinder Singh Sekhon, Vijay Kumar Sharma, Avtar Singh Mahal, Inderjit Singh, Abhinash Aziz, Anoop Singh, Birbal, Jagga Singh Doabia, NityaNand, Vijay Panditji, Iqbal Singh Lali, RS Rangila, Muni Lal, Ram Saran Arora, PL Dua, KailashChander, Balwinder Singh, Jagtar Singh, ParamjitNarula, KL Kalra, BalbirKaur, Gurdev Singh Grewal, Bhagwant Singh, Kamlesh Chand.
While explaining the background of this development of reconstitution of Executive Council,Jila Ram Bansal, President informed the General Body on 9th May, 2018 that in the last General Body meeting which held on 09.04.2018 Mr. DP Maur, the then Chairman, suddenly got infuriated, stood up, rushed to the stage where the President was delivering his Presidential speech. Mr.Maurpushed the President, snatched the mike from his hands, captured the stage and created chaos resulting the meeting ended without any conclusion. He left very ugly scene behind. Keeping in view, these violent actions of Mr. DP Maur and his associates,the matter was brought to the notice to the Executive Council. The Executive Council unanimously recommended to call their explanation with sufficient time to clarify the position. Hence when their reply was totally baseless, unsatisfactory, arrogantory, disrespectful to the President and averse to the real incident which happened on 09.04.2018 in the General House, the President on the recommendation of the unanimous decision of the Executive Council and using constitutional power was forced to expel DP Maur and his others forever from the primary membership of the Association.
Mr.SatishSood, General Secretary while conducting the stage told the general house about the position of the demands of the retirees which have been cleared by the Authorities of the PAU. He also thanked the PAU Vice Chancellor Dr. BS Dhillon for clearing almost all the dues of the Retirees and also for his sympathetic attitude towards the retirees. He also thanked the President retirees for coming in such a record beating number matching all the previous general body meetings.
