PUCA delegation met Union Ministers Thawar Chand Gehlot & Anurag Singh Thakur
PUCA urged Centre Govt to resolve Punjab PMS scholarship issue Ludhiana, June 5, 2019: A delegation of PUCA met Union Social Welfare Minister Sh. Thawar Chand Gehlot to greet him on taking the Charge in Union Govt at Shastri Bhawan, New Delhi. Dr.Anshu Kataria, President, PUCA; Sh.Amit Sharma, Vice President, PUCA along with other members joined the delegation. The delegation also met various other officials along with the Minister. The officials assured that the Centre Govt. would review this PMS Scheme and would try if Centre Govt bear the major part of this scheme and make it 75:25. Minister Gehlot gave patient hearing to PUCA delegation despite his busy schedule before his 5 days trip to Argentina. On the other hand, the delegation also met Sh. Anurag Singh Thakur, Union Minister of State for Finance & Corporate Affairs. The delegation urged for the support to the Colleges of North India including Punjab, Himachal Pradesh etc while making the new policies since the Edupreneurs of North India are facing a huge financial crunch. It is to be mentioned that SC admissions in Punjab declined from 3.05 Lakh from 2017-18 to 2.50 Lakh in 2018-19 as around 1000 Crore of PMS is pending towards the State Govt. On the one hand, State Govt is saying that they haven’t received the funds from Centre Govt. while Centre Govt is saying that State Govt hasn’t submitted the outcome of audit reports and Utility certificates due to which they couldn’t release the funds earlier.
