Poster making, Slogan writing and Declamation Contests on National Voter Day
Jalandhar, January 25, 2019: NSS unit of DAV College, Jalandhar celebrated National Voter Day with great fervour. It was 10th voter day celebrated in college campus. S.Gurkaran Singh, additional director, Youth Services Department, Jalandhar was the guest of honour. Students from various classes participated in poster making, declamation and slogan writing competitions. There were total 21 entries and Prof.(Dr.) Dinesh Kumar and Prof.(Dr.) Komal Arora judged entries of all three competitions. Various ideas projected by students of declamation contest were thought provoking and encouraging for youth to cast their vote. Calling vote as individual's voice and considering voting not only as a right but responsibility, students developed a notion of becoming worthy citizens of India rather than complaining about political system always. It is rightly said "Bezubaan nahi the par bezubaan rahe, to ab shikaayaton ki fairist kyon". So its really very important to participate in elections to earn the right to judge our leaders. Ideas related to voting and democracy were very well presented in slogan writing and poster making competition by students. In-charge NSS, Prof. SK Midha appreciated the efforts of programme officers Dr. Komal Arora, Dr. Meenu Talwar, Dr. Rishi Kumar and all participants for making a successful effort to mark National Voter Day. Prof. Bhuvan Lamba and Prof Monica were also present on this occasion.
