Poor Quality of Electricity in Industrial Area B, hampered the industry, Huge Losses Faced

Ludhiana, May 27, 2019: Lalton 66 KVA Feeder is disturbed and has been tripped for at least 4 times since yesterday, since the electricity being supplied to the industry in Industrial Area B, Janta Nagar, New Janta Nagar areas of Ludhiana is in very poor condition, multiple tripping on daily basis is being observed in focal point, which is a huge loss to the industry, as electricity is one of the major raw material to the industry. FICO demanded to install the 220 KVA Feeder for Janta Nagar Division.

Gurmeet Singh Kular, President, FICO, has discussed the issue with Chief Engineer, Central Zone, Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) D. P. S. Grewal, and said that it has been observed that since elections are over, the electricity being supplied to the industry is very poor in terms of quality, multiple tripping and voltage fluctuations are being observed. PSPCL should take immediate actions to ensure that the good quality of electricity should be supplied to the industry.

Kular also discussed the issue with Executive Engineer, Janta Nagar Special Division.

Manjinder Singh Sachdeva, General Secretary FICO, said that the uninterrupted power supply is the basic need of the industry, therefore, PSPCL should ensure the uninterrupted power supply as in industry power is the one of major raw materials, even power supply to offices is also getting interrupted.

FICO requested the chief engineer to get the power systems of Ludhiana strengthened before the summers are on its peak, as then power demand will be also be on rise.
