Ludhiana, February 24, 2019: Ludhiana MP Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Minister Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu have taken strong notice of the unnecessary raids being carried out by the Investigation Wing of Central Income Tax Department. While warning the department, they said that if unnecessary raids and harassment does not stop, then they would be forced to hold dharna’s in front of offices of the officials.

While speaking over this issue, Mr Ravneet Singh Bittu and Mr Bharat Bhushan Ashu said that they have been getting regular complaints from shopkeepers and traders that the Investigation Wing of Central Income Tax Department is unnecessarily harassing them on the pretext of surveys and raids. They said that the shopkeepers and traders complained that the department officials are promoting corruption, which is leading to harassment.

Mr Bittu said that the harassment of the shopkeepers and traders would not be tolerated at any cost and they would join them in protest. He said that if need arises, they would also gherao the offices of the officials. He said that if it leads to law and order situation, then the department would be solely responsible for that.
