PAU ORGANISES SWACHH BHARAT CAMPAIGN

Ludhiana, October 28, 2016: A 'Swachh Bharat Campaign' was organized under All India Coordinated Research Project on Home Science, Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) in the adopted village of Talwandi Khurd, Ludhiana. The campaign was launched with the lectures regarding sanitation, hygiene and their importance for health and environment. Dr Sandeep Bains, Unit Coordinator and Head, Apparel and Textile Science; Dr Kiranjot Sidhu, Senior Scientist and Head , Extension Education and Communication Management; and other scientists of the project attended the function. On the occasion, slogan writing and poster making competitions were organized in the village high school. Students also participated in preparing decorative dustbins. Competition in keeping household surroundings clean was organized in the village for women participants.

Mr Lakhinder Singh, Principal, Government High School, Talwandi Khurd distributed the prizes to the winners and appreciated their efforts. He thanked PAU for choosing the village to conduct such motivating and important activities. The teachers and school children participated in the prize distribution function.
