Ludhiana, November 10, 2016: A two-day training course on various aspects of agriculture was organized by the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) for the agents/supervisors of Kisan Call Centre. A total of 32 participants attended the course, held under the guidance of Dr R.S.Sidhu, Director of Extension Education.
The Coordinator of the course, Dr T.S. Riar said that every trainee must contribute to the agricultural production by gaining know-how of scientific farming from PAU experts. Efforts must be made to enhance the production as well as income of the farmers, he added.
During the course, experts namely Dr Satpal Saini, Dr Amandeep Singh Brar, Dr J.S. Kular, Dr Navprem Singh and Dr Khurana dwelt on agricultural challenges being confronted; micronutrient deficiencies in crops; insect-pest and disease management in rabi crops; nursery raising and fruit and vegetable cultivation.
