Primary Education Most Important For A Child- Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal

Ludhiana, January 29, 2016: Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal today said that primary education is one of the most important aspect for a child and good quality primary education acts as a strong and stable foundation for him. He said that the strong foundation in form of primary education proves most beneficial for him throughout his life.
      Dr Atwal was speaking on a seminar regarding Career Guidance and Counselling in government schools, which was organised by State Guidance Bureau of Education Department Punjab at Guru Nanak Bhawan, here today. Punjab School Education Board vice chairman Suresh Tandon, state coordinator of State Guidance Bureau Shruti Shukla, DEO (Secondary) Paramjit Kaur Chahal, District Guidance Counsellor Santokh Singh Gill, besides several others were also present on the occasion.
      While addressing a gathering of more than 660 school heads and School Guidance Counsellors from 330 schools of the Ludhiana district, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that strengthening primary education is need of the hour and even the state government under the able leadership of Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal, Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal and Education Department under Dr Daljit Singh Cheema is already working in this field. He said that he is personally taking interest in this regard.
      He informed that he had already taken up this matter with Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi, who has shown positive interest in this regard. He said that there is strong need that both the rich and poor get equal opportunities in terms of education. While speaking on career guidance and counselling in schools, Dr Atwal said that the teachers should have personal rapport with the students so that they can guide them to achieve big in their life. He said whatever he has achieved in his life is only because of his teacher Mr Avtar Singh Dhodhi.
      Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government has started several schemes for uplifting the standard of education. He said that bicycles to girl students are being distributed under Mai Bhago Vidya Scheme, for preparing the students for professional courses, six meritorious schools have been started in the state where students scoring above 80% marks are getting free education, besides several others.
      Shruti Shukla, state coordinator of State Guidance Bureau, urged the teachers to lay special emphasis in Career Guidance and Counselling of students of government schools. She said that showing the right path to a student is like a service to the society.
