Officers must stand up during National Anthem

Chandigarh, June 30, 2014: Punjab Vidhan Sabha Speaker Dr.Charanjit Singh Atwal has issued instructions that all officers present in Assembly to stand up in respect of National Anthem. These orders have been passed for the upcoming assembly budget session which would be followed by Governor's speech.
Disclosing this here today, a Spokesperson of Vidhan Sabha said that now it would be mandatory for all the Bureaucrats sitting in the officer gallery, and other officers present in assembly to stand up at time of recitation of National Anthem.
He added that in regard to this, written instructions had been sent to all the departments including Chief Secretaries and Administrative Secretaries.
