Non Teaching employees stage dharna against state government in front of Apeejay College

Jalandhar, November 28, 2016: A dharna was held by Non Teaching employees of colleges of Jalandhar under the aegis of Private College Non-Teaching Employees Union, Punjab (aided and unaided) as a protest for non-acceptance of long pending genuine demands of the non teaching staff working in the private aided colleges inspite of repeated reminders and meeting with the Punjab Government representatives. State President Mr.Madan Lal Khullar apprised the members that the government has not been granted the enhanced medical allowance and house rent. He also emphasized that the notification for revised grade pay w.e.f. 1st December, 2011 has also not been implemented by the government. He appealed the employees that nobody will support the candidates of Akali BJP in the next Vidhan Sabha Elections. Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Joint Secretary of the union was condemned the negative attitude of the government towards the acceptance of the demands i.e. revised pay scale w.e.f. 1-12-11, house rent and medical allowances w.e.f. 1-8-2009, recruitment of ban from the posts of non teaching employees, 4:9:14 step up increment, pension etc. Joint Secretary Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Manav Rakhra of DAV college, Jagdish Singh of Khalsa College, Mohan Lal and Rma Shankar Tiwari, Daler Singh and Kapil of Doaba College also addressed the gathering and raised anti government slogans during their protest.

The issue of negative attitude of Principal Sucharita Sharma of Apeejay College was also condemned by the non teaching employees. The non teaching employees were raised slogans against her and they appealed if the genuine demands of the college unit will not be accepted they will burn the effigy of her in front of her gate. On Dharna Mr. Pawan Baba, Ravi Baba and Ashok Valmiki have also given support to the union members and they also told that all the community members have their own respect and dignity.

On this occasion, Joint Secretary Mr. Lakhwinder Singh, Co convener DAV CCC Punjab Ravi Maini, Manav Rakhra, Ram Chander of DAV college, Jagdish Singh of Khalsa College, Mohan Lal and Rma Shankar Tiwari, Daler Singh of Doaba College, Raman Behl of HMV, Manohar Lal, Sudarshan of Apeejay college and other members of non-teaching employees union were also present.
