Chandigarh, October 26, 2016: Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh Vice Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover today launched various online applications for PU affiliated colleges.
With this launching, the details of the Colleges including financial status of the College and land details would be available on the website and would bring transparency and reduce the paper work.
Addressing the inaugural function, PU VC Prof Grover said that the online applications are part of the national call to increase transparency and openness. The earlier we start, the better it will be, he added. He called upon all the colleges to appoint
nodal officer to coordinate with the Dean Colleges and Development Council (DCDC) office of the University. He suggested for organizing a workshop of college principals for working on the online applications.
Controller of Examinations and DCDC Prof Parvinder Singh informed that the online applications would provide direct interface of the University and college branch to redress the academic and administrative issues with the affiliated colleges. It is
earnest effort that the students and the public would be only a click away to know the number of seats, Programme and Courses, Staff details in all the affiliated Colleges along with NAAC accredited score, he added.
With this launching, the details of Principal and teaching staff with their qualifications and approval number would be available College-wise. In future, the approval letter for each teacher to be approved by the PU would be uploaded on the web-site. The work relating to inspection such as date of inspection, inspection report along with attachment, if any, would be sent to the College through the software. The compliance report would be submitted by the Colleges through the software/application.
The strength of class-wise, Course wise, category wise students would be available for each College. The land details, building details, infrastructure and facilities available in the College would be available. The details of Management along with members of the College would also be available.
The financial status of the College including expenditure and income of the College would be available. The courses running in the Colleges including affiliation fee with details of RTGS/DD and also number of seats available in each course will be available.
Each College will have to create login for Principal and every teacher so that they can update individual details. The College would be authorized to provide login ID to the teachers for updation of their professional and academic achievements from time to time. This would expedite to fetch the data at the click of mouse instead of searching the data from the files physically. The applications would help in generating various types of reports as per requirement from time to time.
Principals of various colleges, PU fellows, Dean Students Welfare (DSW) Prof Navdeep Goyal and officers were also present on the occasion.
