Ludhiana, July 22, 2016: In order to create essential traffic sense and awareness regarding road safety norms the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is all set to inaugurate children traffic training park at Model Town on July 26. The Municipal Corporation Ludhiana had signed MOU with Honda company for conducting this road safety and awareness among masses especially youth.
The company has prepared program and required infrastructure for developing children traffic training park. The Mayor Harcharan Singh Gohalwaria is likely to inaugurate the traffic training park.
The MOU has been signed for two years but it can be expanded for the five years depending upon the response from the public. The Honda company would provide expert safety instructors to educate new riders on the correct riding techniques, children would get an opportunity to learn driving on road through interesting techniques.
Through this traffic awareness program the MCL wants to grip the youth and make them aware of the safety while driving so that there should be less accidents on city roads. The officials claimed that when they would educate these children at young age about safety rules while driving they would teach even elders at home.
The Section Manager, Projects Safety Promotion Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Private Limited Arvind Kumar said that they have divided training program in parts as in the first group 5 to 8 years old kids would be imparted knowledge regarding road safety norms while for next age group of 9 to 12 years they have imported a bike from Japan that will give real bike experience to riders. He further told that a special road safety training classroom has been prepared for youth above 13 years old.
Meanwhile, the MCL Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori told that awareness regarding road safety is the need of the hour so this training program will help in fulfilling the aim. He further told that people would be imparted basic knowledge about the traffic rules in the training park.
