MISSION TANDRUST PUNJAB:  TREE SAPLINGS PLANTED IN GOVERNMENT COLLEGE FOR GIRLS

Ludhiana, September 6, 2018: Under the Mission Tandrust Punjab being started by the Punjab government, tree saplings are being planted across the city so that the green cover can be increased. For this social cause, not only government departments, but even private and semi government organisations are also coming forward. This was stated by Municipal Corporation Ludhiana Joint Commissioner Dr Poonam Preet Kaur while attending a function related to tree plantation drive at Government College for Girls, here today. More than 200 tree saplings were planted in and around the college premises today.

While speaking on the occasion, she said that sincere efforts are being made to make the Mission Tandrust Punjab successful as all stakeholders are contributing wholeheartedly. She said that in view of Mission Tandrust Punjab and Swachh Survekshan 2019, tree saplings are being planted in different parts of the city, and even GLADA is to provide 18000 plants for this purpose.

She said that the Municipal Corporation Ludhiana is also committed for improving the standings of the city in Swachh Survekshan 2019 and efforts are being made for this purpose.

Dr Poonam Preet Kaur also appealed to the city residents as well as the students to make efforts to make Mission Tandrust Punjab successful and to ensure that maximum number of tree saplings are maintained properly.

She also thanked the officials of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and Arun Gas Agency for supporting this social cause. A large number of college students and staff members were also present on the occasion.
