FEROZEPUR, December 30, 2018: Ballot papers were burnt by few unidentified miscreants who had come on a car during polls at Village Lakhmir Ke Uthar in Mamdot block.
As per information available, 12-15 unidentified persons reached the polling booth setup at Government Primary School on a car and burnt the ballot papers.
One person identified as Mohinder Singh (60) was crushed by their car.
The Injured Mohinder Singh was immediately rushed to Mamdot Civil Hospital where he succumbed to injuries.
As soon as the matter was reported, senior officials from the administration and police including Balwinder Singh Dhaliwal, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur, Gurmit Singh Multani, ADC Ferozepur and SP (D) Baljit Singh reached the spot and took stock of the situation.
Overall 44 percent voting has been done till 2.00 pm in this district.
