Ludhiana railway station to have facility of elevator within a couple of days

Ludhiana, March 30, 2018: The busiest railway station of the state at Ludhiana will soon have the facility of an elevator (see picture).
The basic structure of this elevator is already ready. Ravneet Singh Bittu, Member Parliament from Ludhiana, on Friday, visited the railway station to review the ongoing work of the project. The facility is likely to be dedicated t o the public within a day or so.
On the occasion, Bittu told that Ludhiana railway station was an important railway station across Punjab from where thousands of passengers travel to and from.
Bittu told that he and the state government had taken up the issue of dilapidated condition of infrastructure at the railway station with the Centre many times following which efforts were on to improve the condition. He said two lifts had already been started and still another lift was to be made available to public at the railway station.
Bittu further told that there was also a need of the setting-up of an elevator besides lifts at the railway station.
He said the work of re-construction of Jagraon Bridge was also in progress. He said the work would be completed on war footings. It may be mentioned here that the Jagraon Bridge was constructed way back in 1888.
